My '87 Land Cruiser interior needs serious love – any upholstery shop recs?
So I've finally reached the point where I can't ignore the interior of my FJ62 anymore. The seats have been slowly deteriorating for years, but now the driver's side has a massive tear that's just getting bigger every time I get in, and the foam underneath is basically disintegrating into dust at this point. The previous owner had some kind of cheap vinyl covers put on ages ago that are now cracked and peeling everywhere, and honestly it's just embarrassing to have people sit in it even though the rest of the truck is in decent shape mechanically. I've been calling around to a few places that do interiors, but most of them only want to work on newer cars or just offer generic seat covers that won't fit properly. I'm really hoping to find somewhere that actually understands older vehicles and can do proper vintage vehicle upholstery restoration because I want to keep it looking as original as possible, not just slap on something modern that looks out of place. A friend mentioned Al Zaabi Auto Care works on classic cars so I might give them a call, but I wanted to check here first if anyone has had upholstery work done on an old Land Cruiser or similar and can point me in the right direction. I don't need anything crazy fancy, just quality work that'll last and match the original style reasonably well.
