Just wanted to share a good experience getting the 458's AC sorted. Turns out it was just a stuck actuator.

I was honestly preparing for the worst when my 2014 458 Spider started blowing hot air on the driver side while the passenger side was still freezing cold. You know how these cars can be, your brain immediately jumps to five figure repair bills and weeks of waiting for parts from Italy. I asked around a bit and someone in the local owners club mentioned a place that does Ferrari AC Workshop Service in Sharjah and handles a lot of the local cars without the theatrical markups. Took it in and they had it diagnosed within an hour. Just a stubborn blend door actuator that had seized up from lack of use, apparently if you only drive these things once every couple of weeks the flaps get lazy. They managed to free it up, recalibrate the system with the proper scan tool, and didn't even need to pull the dashboard apart which was my biggest fear. Charged me for an hour of labor and a system check and sent me on my way with ice cold air blowing evenly again. It's nice to know there's a place that treats these cars like cars and not like museum pieces that require a blank check every time something hiccups. If you're in the same boat and worried about the dealer quote, it's worth getting a second look from someone who sees these regularly.
