If you booted up Forza Horizon 6 on day one, you might have noticed something odd: Infiniti cars were completely missing from the lineup. Despite over 550 vehicles being available at launch, the luxury Japanese brand didn’t make the cut. Here’s why.
Key Reasons for Infiniti’s Absence
1. Licensing Expirations
Car licensing in video games isn’t permanent. Developers need to renew agreements with each manufacturer regularly. For Infiniti, the licensing deal expired before the launch window and wasn’t renewed in time. Without an active license, Playground Games couldn’t legally include their cars.
2. Asset Purging & Remodeling
Playground Games has been cleaning house on older car models. Many vehicles in recent Forza titles were recycled from older console generations. Infiniti’s models were limited—Forza Horizon 5 only had a single concept car from the brand. Rebuilding these assets from scratch takes time, so the brand was held back until proper 3D models could be prepared.
3. Festival Playlist Strategy
Sometimes, developers intentionally hold back fan-favorite or highly anticipated cars for post-launch content. By releasing Infiniti vehicles later, they can keep players engaged with new rewards in Festival Playlists and seasonal updates.
Infiniti’s Shrinking Presence in Forza
Over the past few Forza Horizon games, Infiniti’s presence has gradually decreased:
Forza Horizon 4: The popular IPL G37 was removed.
Forza Horizon 5: Only the Q50 sedan remained briefly before it was axed, leaving a lone concept car.
Forza Horizon 6: Infiniti is completely absent from the base game, along with other brands like Bugatti and Alpine.
Will Infiniti Come Back?
There’s a strong chance Infiniti will return through future DLC or seasonal updates. This follows the same pattern as past Forza titles: initially missing manufacturers are often reintroduced once new licensing deals are signed and fully modeled cars are ready.
